BIG news in Rick Reilly World [UPDATED UPDATE]

A few things (the BIG NEWS is # 3…save the best for last):

1.) I “met” the editor of this week’s Reilly column on Twitter today! She seems like a nice woman…and I must say did a fine editing job. Sadly, she informed me that she has no hiring/ firing power at ESPN.

2.) Reilly’s column is about Rules for Rushing the Court…and really it’s not all that egregious. Granted, it’s not written well, But, it is kind of dumb for people to be rushing the court all the time at college basketball basketball games. Except, eff it…it’s fun for the fans and I bet the athletes enjoy the enthusiasm. So, no. It’s not really dumb. I’ll look at a couple small pieces here in a bit…but…

NUMBER 3!!!!1!!) Readers Can Now Comment (for the time being at least) ON RICK REILLY COLUMNS. This is big…along with Bill Simmons…you’ve never been able to comment on Reilly’s columns before…for obvious reasons, I guess….but no longer. I suspect this is an error, so fly…fly to the comments page. (Link next graf). [UPDATE] ESPN is deleting all the comments every so often, but you can still comment and read comments here for as long as they stay up.

[UPDATED UPDATE] It’s all over folks. But in less than an hour, there were at least 300 comments…many of them (I won’t say half) in support of Reilly. So kinda weird that they took them off. Anyway, that was fun while it lasted.

This is now the fourth best thing that has ever happened to me, behind my wedding day, the birth of my son, and the time I was at this party and people were dancing to Sugar We’re Going Down… by Fall Out Boy…and I just so happened to have a bullet in my pocket. “I’ll be your number with a Bullet!” Yeah, that was freaking awesome. You can just imagine the good times that came from that one. I was so proud. ANYWAY…the point is…go comment now. COMMENT PAGE HERE.
